WKCTC Receives Seven Awards

West Kentucky Community and Technical College has received seven awards from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR).

Winning recipients were announced Tuesday at the District 2 Conference in Hilton Head, S.C.
WKCTC received gold awards in the writing category for an article titled, Campus Unusual Location for Cemetery, published in The Paducah Sun and written by Janett Blythe, WKCTC marketing director; a college video program featuring Samuel Hawkins produced by Dan Sheppard, WKCTC television producter/director; and a promotional video on the Challenger Learning Center produced by Jon Walker, WKCTC television producter/director.

In addition, bronze awards went to Walker and Tammy Thompson, WKCTC public relations coordinator, for a college promotional video on the college's logistics program and to Sheppard for the video series, Paducah View. Silver awards were also given to Sheppard for the commercial series produced for the Clemens Fine Arts Center and to Thompson for the development of a promotional campaign for Jeannette Walls visit to the campus last year.

The NCMPR District 2 Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in communications at community and technical colleges in District 2 and is the only regional competition of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and PR professionals at two-year colleges. NCMPR’s District 2 is comprised of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, The Bahamas and Bermuda.
